Hello Everyone!
I can't believe we are already in the month of November ~ This school year is flying by !
Listed below are a few housekeeping items to take note of:
~ Today, students brought home a November Classroom Bulletin, a Show and Tell Schedule, and a November Reading Log. Please review these materials at home with your child.
~ Please have your child return their October Reading Logs A.S.A.P.
~ Book bags are to be returned to school every Monday. Your child will be bringing home a new set of books every Tuesday.
~ RAZ KIDS: As part of our classroom literacy program, your child is strongly encouraged to log in to RAZ KIDS, our online reading program, every day for at least ten minutes. This program develops your child's comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and expression at their reading level. When completing the comprehension questions, please help your child read the questions. A letter and student information (username and password) was sent home a month ago explaining the program, and on Tuesday (November 2nd), I will be sending home another sign-in card for each child. This program allows me to keep track of your child's progress, including the amount of time they read, what level they are reading at, and how well they perform on the quizzes. Please make RAZ KIDS part of your daily reading program :)

This exciting website allows your child to read books/have books read to them at their own reading level. You child will be bringing home their passwords this week so please keep an eye out for information in their agendas!

Friendly Reminders
Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a nice weekend :)
Here are some friendly reminders as we are nearing the end of September:
- School Pictures are tomorrow (September 26th)
- Our Terry Fox Walk takes place this Friday ~ Please make a donation if possible !
- Grade 2 students have started their Spelling Program - Pre-tests will occur on Monday and tests will take place every Friday.
- For our home-reading program, please read with your child for a minimum of 15 minutes every day. Students will return their five books on Monday, and new books will come home on Tuesday.
- Agendas need to be brought to school every day.
- Please remember to send your child with a spoon in their lunch kit if needed.
It has been a great year so far !

New School Year !
Hello Everyone!
I hope all of you enjoyed your summer holidays ~ Was it filled with friends, family, and outdoor activities? I sure hope so! I am very excited to start this school year off! It is going to be a FABULOUS year filled with excitement, fun, and lots of learning. I strongly believe that learning should be an enjoyable journey, where we all grow and develop a true love of wisdom and discover our strengths and passions.
I am very excited to meet all of our new Grade 1 friends, and be reacquainted with our Grade 2 Veterans ! As a friendly reminder, please call the school at 204-268-2664 to book an appointment for Opening-Conferences. Conferences take place on September 7th (12:00-4:00 & 5:00-7:00) and September 8th (11:00-1:00 & 2:00-6:00), and are 30 minutes in length.
At your scheduled time, please bring $48 for your child's school supplies, two boxes of Kleenex, and a pair of indoor running shoes to keep at school.

School Swimming
Hello Everyone,
Just a friendly reminder that swimming forms and payment are due tomorrow (June 1st). As well, for each swimming day we need a minimum of 5 guardians to help with supervision duties. So far, we have approximately 3-4 volunteers for each day ~ Please contact me via email if you are able to volunteer .

May 31st
Hello Everyone,
I can't believe the year is almost over with only 22 school days left!
We had a wonderful trip to the Manitoba Museum today, where the students had an opportunity to view the Planetarium, explore the Museum, take part in a "States of Matter" lesson, and play in the Science Gallery. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Vernon, Mrs. Gusta, and Mrs. Kanzler for joining us on our field trip!
Tomorrow, students from K-5 will take part in "Career Day". This event takes place every 5 years, where a variety of workers in our community come to our school to explain their careers and have students start thinking about what they would like to be when they grow up! It will definitely be a fun-filled day!
Swimming forms are to be completed and submitted by Wednesday, June 1st. Please complete all waiver forms and if you are available to volunteer during our swimming times, it would be greatly appreciated and we would love to have you join our class. A minimum of 5 parent volunteers is needed for each day. A big thank-you to the parents who already signed up!
